I have decades of wet lab experience, and at my retirement from federal service, I had the longest tenure of anyone with GenBank, the repository of nucleic acid sequencers and their annotation. I judge shorter is better, so I just want to make 2 points:
1. My PhD work was with phage T4, as a DNA virus its mutation rate sans mutagenesis was low, so quasi-species swarms as occur in RNA viruses slipped under my radar, and I am extremely impressed how my don saw their importance. I have been more involved in heat shock genes then genetic dataflow, so I missed them.

2. ADE in COVID19. I am amazed how little press this has gotten. In case you are not aware, Dengue virus is the canonical infection prone to ADE, where a intermediate amount of antibody makes the infection more severe, in brief. Well as shown in the links below, ADE to the same extent as Dengue occurs in COVID19. The bottom line is vaccines of any time can, depending on the strain used for vaccination and the circulating strain, backfire. This is accepted microbiology, not conspiracy.
